CAMP MISSIONARIES

Each summer we feature a different missionary at Allendale Christian Camp and Retreat Center. Campers hear from these extraordinary people about the work being done through their mission organization to help the hurting and bring the gospel to all corners of the earth. It also gives campers a chance to contribute financially to the work of these missions.  Below you can read about the missionaries from past years.

A Final Note From Mac & Kaitlin

This summer we gave 72 presentations about missions and the need for Bible translation in Papua New Guinea and around the world to 2,117 campers and at least 1,000 adult volunteers and staff at Camp Allendale. It was a HUGE blessing to be able to talk about mission work with so many people this summer. And not only share about our work, but raise money for it! The campers raised nearly $25,000 for the work of Bible translation! What a huge blessing!

Thank you to all of you who prayed that the campers would have ears to hear and hearts to understand. Thank you also to everyone who prayed that Kaitlin and I would have wisdom, strength, and the courage to overcome stage fright! A lot of this summer's activities were outside of our comfort zone but we were honored to step into that discomfort in order to share the work that God has placed on our hearts with the next generation!

Speaking of sharing, one of the things we shared with the students this summer was the number of languages in the world and how many of them didn't have a Bible.

To illustrate this, we used a bead for every known language in the world and a different color for each stage of translation.

We had 7,388 beads in four different colors:
All the green beads represented languages with a full Bible: 724.
The yellow beads, languages with a New Testament: 1,617.
Blue beads, works in progress: 3,266.
and lastly, gray beads, languages with no Bible, no Scripture: 1,781
